Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Hunan Province and is China's first national forest park (established in 1982). It is also a core component of the World Natural Heritage and World Geopark. Renowned for its unique quartz sandstone peak forest landscape, primitive ecology, and fantastic scenery, it is known as the "expanded bonsai, reduced fairyland".

Quartz sandstone peak forest
The park has over 3000 stone peaks of various shapes, such as swords, pillars, humans, and animals, which are natural wonders formed through billions of years of geological movements. Representative landscapes include:
Yu Bi Feng: A brush shaped like a reverse insertion, often appearing in promotional videos in Zhangjiajie.
Fairy scattering flowers: The mountain peaks resemble a girl holding a flower basket, and when shrouded in clouds and mist, they resemble a fairyland.
The filming location of Avatar
The prototype of "Hallelujah Mountain" in the movie "Avatar" is the Qiankun Pillar in the park (later renamed "Hallelujah Mountain"), and the inspiration for the suspended mountain comes from this.
Primitive forests and biodiversity
The forest coverage rate is as high as 98%, with rare plants such as paulownia and ginkgo, and wild animals such as macaques and giant salamanders often appearing.
