Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger)

Roujiamo, or Chinese hamburger, is another culinary icon of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, often hailed as the "Chinese hamburger." It perfectly embodies the essence of crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with meaty aroma, making it an irresistible street food.

Simply put, roujiamo consists of a crispy baked flatbread (baiji bun) sandwiching chopped, juicy braised pork.

This long-established shop in Dongmutou has flexible opening hours (usually only open until noon) and closes as soon as it's sold out. The steamed buns are larger than those from other shops, and the meat is flavorful and made using traditional methods, resulting in very firm and tender meat.
