Travel Tips

Bayanbulak Scenic Area is located in the northwest of Hejing County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a high mountain basin in the middle of the Tianshan Mountains. It is famous for its vast alpine grasslands, winding Kaidu River (nine curves and eighteen bends), and elegant Swan Lake. It is the second largest grassland in China after the Hulunbuir Grassland in Inner Mongolia and a national AAAAA level tourist attraction.

Nine Bends and Eighteen Bends (Kaidu River)
This is the most central and stunning landscape of Bayanbulak The Kaidu River meanders through the grasslands, forming countless S-shaped river bays on the flat grasslands, creating a magnificent scene of "nine bends and eighteen twists". On sunny evenings, especially around September every year, the rays of the setting sun will perfectly reflect in the river bay, giving countless photography enthusiasts the opportunity to see the reflections of nine suns in the river water at the same time, which is the ultimate dream.
Swan Lake
The Bayanbulak grassland is densely covered with lakes and swamps, among which Swan Lake is the most famous. It is actually the general term for the numerous lakes and swamps formed by the meandering Kaidu River on the grassland, and is the largest and only Swan Nature Reserve in Asia and China. Every spring, thousands of rare birds such as swans, swans, spotted swans, and geese flock from India and southern Africa to inhabit and reproduce here. Here, you can see the graceful posture of swans swimming and flying in the water.
Snow Mountain and Grassland
The Bayanbulak grassland is surrounded by snow capped mountains (such as Mount Elbin) that accumulate snow all year round. The grassland has a flat terrain and abundant water and grass. At first glance, there is an endless green carpet, with herds of cattle and sheep, shining brightly against the distant white snow peaks, forming a magnificent picture.

Turgut Folk Culture Village
You can delve into the history, culture, and customs of the Torgut tribe here, enjoy ethnic songs and dances, and taste Mongolian specialty cuisine.
