Dali Old City is located in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with Cangshan Mountain at its back and Erhai Lake at its face. It is the core of China's famous historical and cultural city and national scenic spot. Founded in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1382), it was the capital of the ancient Nanzhao Kingdom and Dali Kingdom, as well as the political, economic, and cultural center of western Yunnan. It is known as the "land of literary fame".

Chessboard style ancient city layout
The ancient city is square in shape, with four gates (the north and south gates no longer exist), and the streets crisscross like a chessboard. The north-south Fuxing Road and the east-west Yuer Road and Renmin Road are the main roads that connect major scenic spots and commercial areas.
Integration of History and Ethnicity
As an important hub of the ancient Southern Silk Road and the Ancient Tea Horse Road, Dali Old City integrates Han, Bai, Yi, Tibetan and other ethnic cultures, especially the Bai culture.
Wind, flowers, snow, and moon enter the city
The ancient city blends into the four wonders of Dali's "wind, flowers, snow, and moon": Xiaguan wind, Shangguan flowers, Cangshan snow, and Erhai moon, exuding a romantic atmosphere everywhere.
