Huaqing Palace, also known as Huaqing Pool, is located in Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, adjacent to Lishan Mountain to the south and Wei River to the north. It is not only one of the oldest royal gardens in China, but also famous throughout the world for the love story between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei, as well as the location of the "Xi'an Incident". It is a unique scenic area that integrates historical culture, imperial hot springs, political turmoil, and natural scenery.
3000 years of royal hot spring history:
The "Number One Imperial Spring in the World": Lishan Hot Spring has been used for over 3000 years, and emperors of the Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang and other dynasties have built palaces here. This is the birthplace of Chinese hot spring culture.
The Tang Dynasty was at its peak: during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, there was a massive expansion, forming a magnificent pattern of "palaces on the high Li Mountain, with three or four layers of red buildings and purple halls", and renamed as "Huaqing Palace". Its core function is the royal hot spring bath.
A romantic and poignant love story - 'Song of Everlasting Regret':
Haitang Tang (Guifei Pool): Yang Yuhuan's exclusive bath, resembling a blooming Haitang flower, witnesses the eternal story of "spring cold bestows a bath in a clear pool, hot spring water washes and solidifies fat".
Lotus Soup (Jiulong Soup): The imperial bathhouse of Emperor Xuanzong Li Longji of Tang Dynasty, with a grand scale, showcasing the imperial style.
Xingchen Soup: Tang Taizong's bathhouse, dating back to the earliest. The Yutang ruins unearthed from these original sites are the most precious historical relics in the scenic area.
