Kashgar Old City is located in the center of Kashgar City, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is one of the largest indigenous architectural complexes in the world and the only maze style urban block in China with Islamic culture as its characteristic. It has a long history, profound culture, and unique charm, and is known as the "living fossil of studying ancient Silk Road cities" and the "epitome of Xinjiang".

Opening Ceremony
Every day around 10am and 6pm, a grand opening ceremony is held at the east gate of the ancient city. Actors dressed in ancient costumes sing and dance, perform antique style welcoming performances, and recreate the historical charm of a thousand year old city, which is definitely worth a visit.
Maze style streets and alleys
The streets and alleys in the ancient city are crisscrossed and winding, like a maze. Strolling through it, one can see quaint yellow residential buildings on both sides, with occasional green plants protruding from the walls. Children play in the alley, leaving traces of life everywhere.
Handicraft Bazaar
Kashgar is the cradle of traditional Uyghur handicrafts. In the ancient city, you can see many handicraft workshops, such as:
Pottery making: Witnessing craftsmen sculpting clay into exquisite pottery.
Bronze ware making: Knocking and hitting, exquisite copper pots and plates emerge one by one.
Wood carving: exquisite carved wooden boxes, wooden bowls, etc.
Edeles silk: Silk with vibrant colors and unique patterns.

Going deep into the ancient city, one can experience the daily life of Uyghur compatriots up close. Their hospitality, sweet fruits, enchanting music, and Maixilaifu (song and dance party) will deeply captivate you.
