Lugu Lake is located at the border of Ninglang County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province and Yanyuan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the third deepest freshwater lake in China (with an average depth of 40 meters and a maximum depth of 93 meters) and a rare maternal society site in the world - the ancestral home of the Mosuo people. It is known as the "Oriental Daughter Country" and the "Pearl of the Plateau".
Ultimate Pure Landscape
The transparency of the lake water reaches 12 meters, with extremely high visibility, presenting a "three colors of the day" under different lighting and seasons (fog blue in the morning, emerald green at noon, and deep blue in the evening). Five whole islands, three peninsulas, and one seawall are scattered in the lake, forming a picturesque contrast with the Grim Goddess Mountain.
The Mysterious Mosuo Culture
The Mosuo people living by the lake (an unidentified ethnic group in China, belonging to the Naxi branch) still maintain the custom of "men not marrying, women not marrying" and the matrilineal family structure centered on women, known as the "living fossil of human matrilineal society".
A stunning natural experience
There are grass seas, flower seas, and starry sky observation points distributed around the lake, where you can experience deep gameplay such as pig trough boat tours, hiking tours, and cycling around the lake.
Four season highlights
Spring (March-May): Peach blossoms and pear blossoms bloom on the lake shore, and the climate is mild.
Summer (June-August): Water lilies (seaweed flowers) bloom on the lake surface, and the grass sea is green.
Autumn (September-November): The blue sky and white clouds reflect like a painting, with the richest color layers.
Winter (December-February): The morning mist is like a fairyland, Siberian seagulls fly in, and the lake surface may glow red at sunrise.
