The Old Summer Palace is the most magnificent and artistically accomplished royal garden of the Qing Dynasty, consisting of three gardens: Yuanmingyuan, Changchun Garden, and Qichun Garden (Wanchun Garden), collectively known as the "Yuanmingyuan". It was once hailed as the "Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens" and the "epitome of all garden art". However, this treasure of human civilization was plundered and burned by the Anglo French coalition during the Second Opium War in 1860, and has since suffered multiple damages, with only the ruins remaining. Nowadays, as a heritage park, it is an important base for patriotic education and a world cultural heritage, carrying the dual memories of glory and pain.

The former glory - the pinnacle of world garden art:

Unprecedented scale: covering an area of 350 hectares, more than four times the size of the Forbidden City, it combines Chinese gardens, European architecture (Western style buildings), and Tibetan style, showcasing the pinnacle of garden art from ancient to modern times, both domestically and internationally.
Cultural Treasure House: It is not only a recreational palace, but also a political and residential center for several emperors of the Qing Dynasty. It houses countless rare treasures, books, paintings, and calligraphy, making it a comprehensive royal museum.
