The highly anticipated 2026 "February 2nd, Laolongtou" National Dragon Dance Carnival kicked off at the Laolongtou Scenic Area in Shanhaiguan, Qinhuangdao. Twenty-six distinctive dragon dance teams from 11 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country gathered on the shores of the Bohai Sea and at the head of the Great Wall, joining tens of thousands of tourists to experience the festive atmosphere and creating a magnificent picture of "Prosperous Dragons Soaring, Mountains and Seas Celebrating Together" amidst the majestic pass and the vast sea.
This event, jointly hosted by the Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance Association, the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Qinhuangdao Municipal People's Government, aims to inherit and promote the great national spirit embodied in dragon culture and Great Wall culture, and to continue building a nationally influential "Hebei New Year Custom" and a new cultural IP. Through four sections—"Dragon Soaring Over Mountains and Seas," "Dragon Enjoying Mountains and Seas," "Dragon Feasting Over Mountains and Seas," and "Dragon Touring Mountains and Seas"—it presents citizens and tourists with a visually appealing and immersive cultural tourism experience, bringing the dragon culture of the mountains and seas to life.
The event also launched the "Shared Scenery Broadcast, Premium Cultural Tourism Products" themed marketing and promotion activity. This activity, created by the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, leverages its advantages in cultural tourism promotion and traffic to empower the development of the province's distinctive industrial clusters. It features an intelligent, matrix-based, and collaborative high-end livestreaming platform. The event invited influencers to promote products from across the province, comprising four main sections: OTA platforms, county-level specialty industries, intangible cultural heritage creative products, and local delicacies. It brought together 22 enterprises, showcasing over a thousand high-quality cultural tourism products from various regions, including cultural tourism packages, joint tickets for tourist attractions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Gaoyang towels, Xinji leather, Xingbai porcelain creative products, Qinhuangdao gifts, and Shanhaiguan hot pot. Through the innovative "livestreaming + cultural tourism" format, it created an immersive cultural tourism consumption scenario for online viewers and offline tourists, allowing them to "browse and watch, buy instantly," and experience the joy of "bringing Hebei's best products and Qinhuangdao specialties home," thus empowering the development of the cultural tourism industry.
